Baby monitors are essentially 2 units which are the transmitter and receiver. The receiver unit picks up the baby’s noises and is kept close to the parent whereas the transmitter is positioned quite close to the baby.
Baby monitors come in two types and are either wired or wireless. Wired baby monitors, as the name implies use wires to connect the electronic units of the system together. Really, the only advantage of a wired system is there will be zero chance of interference from household items and appliances such as other baby monitors (from neghbors), cordless phones, microwaves, wireless routers etc...
However, these systems are not cheap to install and tradesmen will need to be employed unless you are very good are DIY. But the main problem is the restriction of the fixed position of the receiving unit. As these units are wired, they have to be installed in a single location and cannot be picked up and moved around like a wireless unit.
On the other hand wireless baby monitors are less restrictive and are extremely popular due to its flexibility and portability. No need to install a wireless baby monitor, simply charge them up, switch them on and you’re done. This device can be up and running n a matter of minutes and they they allow the parents to move freely around the house as the receiver unit and can be taken with them. The unit is either clipped to a belt or hung around the neck. You will always be able to listen to your baby wherever you are - in your house or garden, just make sure you are in range.
There was once a concern about interference but these days it’s a thing of the past. Wireless baby monitors are the way to go and with the advancement of digital technology we have DECT baby monitors. These are intelligent devices that can change frequency if they detect any interference. It is best to read baby monitor reviews if you want to learn more.
Baby monitors are vital if you want time for yourself and relax and have peace and quiet whilst your baby is asleep. Baby safety monitors act as a “second pair of eyes” and ears and help parents watch over their kids and babies while they are in a different room. You will be easily be able to find time for yourself with a baby safety monitor without having the baby in the location as yourself all of the time. You will have so much more time on your hands to do what you want.
